Mike Richards will not be bought out by the Los Angeles Kings. Kings general manager Dean Lombardi told the Los Angeles Times in an interview Friday that Richards will remain with the team but must improve in training. The NHL will consider a change of ends for overtime to put skaters farther from their benches, as they are in the second period, which, statistically, is the highest-scoring of the three periods.
